Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an Investment Associate for our New York City office. You will participate in the evaluation, underwriting, due diligence, and closing of new investment opportunities across distressed and CRE loans, with high visibility to the Investment Committee.

You will value CRE asset classes in the New York metro area, write investment memoranda, develop scenarios, and collaborate with Sourcing, Asset Management, and Legal teams to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of CRE underwriting experience with strong Excel and Argus skills.
• Experience with loan data tapes, portfolio analysis, and stress testing.
• Strong writing skills to synthesize analysis into investment memoranda.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price CRE loans and loan portfolios
• Lead due diligence and facilitate closings
• Review loan documents and incorporate provisions into modeling
• Value CRE assets in the New York metro area
• Prepare investment memoranda for the Investment Committee
• Develop scenario analyses and fund models
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Asset Management, and Legal teams
• Support development of AI-enabled underwriting workflows
