Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Operating Room and inpatient units by inspecting, preparing, receiving and issuing sterile equipment.

You will work with washers, dryers, ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers, follow aseptic technique, maintain documentation and communicate with OR staff to ensure patient safety and efficient case preparation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification required.
• 1 year 6 months to 1 year related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, prepare and issue instruments, trays and equipment according to policies.
• Load and operate washers, dryers, ultrasonic cleaner, sterilizers and cart wash machines.
• Maintain daily productivity levels and records of sterilization indicators.
• Communicate with Operating Room staff about supplies and case carts.
• Identify sterile technique principles and ensure aseptic practices.
