The University of Minnesota is seeking Data Collectors for the Cannabis Research Center within the School of Public Health. This temporary hourly position runs about 3–4 months with possible renewal and requires roughly 15 hours per week, mainly afternoons and evenings, including some weekends.

Pay is $20 per hour, with mileage reimbursement provided. Candidates must have a high school diploma, be 21+, own a smartphone, and be able to drive a personal vehicle on occasion for data collection

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must own a smartphone and be able to use it for data collection.
  • Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Selected drivers must have a valid license, reliable vehicle, proof of insurance, and pass a driving record check.
  • Flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous data collection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data collection following the study protocol (90%).
  • Debrief/answer questions about observations with study team members (5%).
  • Complete University/study training requirements (5%).

About the Job

The University of Minnesota School of Public Health's Cannabis Research Center is seeking individuals to collect data for a research study of local business practices. This is a temporary hourly position lasting approximately 3-4 months with the potential to be renewed. Weekend and evening hours may be required. Data Collectors will record and ensure accuracy of the data gathered from retail observations and carefully follow the study protocol for conducting observations.

Data Collectors will work approximately 15 hours per week, on average. Mileage reimbursement will be covered by the School of Public Health. Data Collectors will conduct the observations in teams, and will be sent out primarily in the afternoon and early evening (approximately 12 pm-8 pm). One member of the data collection team during each shift will need to drive their vehicle. They will be reimbursed for their mileage at the business standard mileage rate.

  • Pay Range: $20.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
