Penguin Random House LLC in Crawfordsville is hiring Light Picker/Packers for the 3rd shift, offering $18.40 per hour with full benefits from day one. Shift times run Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:00 am (or 11:30 pm – 7:30 am).

Responsibilities include picking and packing book orders, processing returns, and using RF devices. Candidates should be able to lift up to 25–35 lbs, stand through the shift, and work safely in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Basic reading and math skills required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 35 lbs occasionally.
• Cross-training in other areas is requested.
• Must follow safety rules and work well in a team environment.

Job Description

We have immediate openings for Light Picker/Packers on 3rd shift. $18.40/hr. and full benefits effective your first day of employment.

Sunday - Thursday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.

Sunday - Thursday 11:30 pm to 7:30 am

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation
• Process customer book returns in a variety of ways
• Using a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment
• Requires basic reading and math skills
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)
• Must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working on an upper mezzanine level
• Must follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment
• Must possess the flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs
• Minimum age requirement is 16
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain good overall safety and attendance record
• Work well in a team-orientated environment
• Must adhere to all established safety and precaution measures. The Health and Safety of all our employees is critical.
• Must be flexible and cross-trained in other areas to assist with work in other departments based on business needs
