Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; further education in business/project/construction management is a plus.
• Experience in crating construction; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of crating techniques, tools, and materials.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate and coach.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in manufacturing/warehouse settings.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist Crating Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the crating department activities.
• Directly supervise crating supervisors, leads and department drivers; assign tasks and evaluate performance.
• Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely crate orders.
• Review customer requirements and blueprints for crate specifications.
• Oversee crate construction for accuracy and quality; ensure client specs are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of crating materials.
• Enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Troubleshoot crate construction and workflow bottlenecks.
• Maintain records of production metrics, inventory, and quality checks.
• Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Collaborate with shipping/logistics for crate deliveries; participate in equipment selection.
• Attend MEI leadership/management meetings as requested.
• Local travel for client site meetings and job walks.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in crating.
