Job summary

DELTA |v| Forensic Engineering in Nashville, TN is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our accident reconstruction team. You will blend field investigations with office analysis to deliver science-based insights for legal, insurance, and transportation clients.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and about 50% regional travel; you will use 3D laser scanning, drones, CAD, and advanced modeling to document sites and develop reconstructions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline required.
• Master’s degree candidates preferred.
• Academic or applied experience in technical research, analysis, or engineering projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field Investigation & Evidence Collection: On-site inspections, vehicle assessments, rapid-response investigations; document physical evidence with 3D laser, drones, digital photography.
• Engineering Analysis & Technical Support: Analyze vehicle motion, damage patterns, and impact forces; use CAD, photogrammetry, and collision simulation tools.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear written materials; develop visual exhibits and reconstruction models; present findings to varied audiences.
• Project & Team Support: Manage multiple projects with deadlines; collaborate with engineers, client staff, and operations partners.
