Position Summary

We are hiring a Crane Technician to join the team in Minneapolis, MN. The Crane Technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance and repair service for hoist and crane equipment. A Crane Technician will also uphold the highest level of professional integrity and ethics as required to instill customer confidence and continued success in service.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
  • Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; document and complete warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance; respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
  • Support customers by interfacing with customers and office in repairing equipment as needed.
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
  • Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Responsible for company equipment including vehicle(s), tools, etc.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
  • 2-5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
  • Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
  • Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperatures and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
  • Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
  • Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
  • Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
  • Must have own hand tools and meter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
