Job summary

Lift Solutions Holdings is seeking a skilled Crane Technician to install, inspect, and service overhead cranes and hoists in Troy, MI. You will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, perform OSHA-equivalent inspections, and provide safe, reliable service to customers from site to site.

Ideal candidates have extensive crane and hoist troubleshooting experience, 3-phase motor knowledge, and the ability to work at heights in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years troubleshooting cranes/hoist equipment.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician or Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Physically demanding role: lift 50–100 lbs, work at height, in extreme temps/noisy locations.
• Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally with customers.
• Strong communication skills internally and externally.
• Safety-minded with quality results.
• Must use own hand tools and meter.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
• Perform OSHA-equivalent inspections; document warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls.
• Interface with customers and office to repair equipment.
• Make electrical/mechanical adjustments with or without engineered drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers; identify solutions and suggest improvements.
• Document service actions via forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, and organization.
• Develop knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Be responsible for company equipment including vehicles and tools.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.

• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• 5 or more years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
• Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
• Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
• Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
• Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
• Required to use own hand tools and meter.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
