Job summary

Under supervision, you will study electrical controls, blueprints, safety, and problem-solving. The program blends classroom hours with real-world crane work and requires a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.
• TWIC within 30 days of appointment and maintained during employment.
• Texas driver’s license required.
• Must be able to climb and work at heights.
• Must be able to operate forklift, if needed.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety precautions for occupational hazards.

Responsibilities

• Develop a broad range of mechanical and electrical skills for crane tech duties.
• Assist inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance to OEM standards.
• Coordinate maintenance with crane technicians, mechanics, and electricians.
• Learn electrical controls and circuits on Port Houston equipment.
• Use tools such as voltmeters, hoists, drills and other trade tools.
• Review manuals and blueprints to fulfill assignments.
• Work overtime as required and support installation tasks.
• Learn safety procedures and environmental rules in all duties.
