Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida under the COMET contract. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining light and heavy equipment, reading load charts, securing loads, and performing safety checks, with travel to different areas on site.

Qualified candidates will have High School plus 3 years' experience, NCCCO and Class A CDL with HazMat preferred, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High School education plus 3 years of experience.
• NCCCO and Class A CDL with HazMat preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to hold the necessary security clearances.
• Ability to obtain and maintain valid certifications, licenses, and permits as required.
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and managers.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all types of light and heavy equipment, both diesel and gasoline.
• Read load charts and understand crane stability and dynamics.
• Select and secure chains, cables, slings, hooks to load/unload and balance equipment.
• Perform safety checks on cranes, forklifts, and aerial platforms.
• Operate mobile hydraulic cranes and heavy trucks to transport materials.
• Work at Kennedy Space Center, with daily travel to different areas on site.
• Fabricate wire rope and proof load equipment.
