Job summary

American Equipment Holdings is seeking a Level 2 Crane Service Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair overhead cranes and hoists. You will service 3-motion cranes with VFDs or contactor controls and troubleshoot brake systems while following safety standards.

The role requires strong electrical skills, mechanical diagnostics, and clear communication with customers. Schedule is 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with on-call or overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes per OEM manuals and OSHA standards.
• Familiarity with 3-motion cranes and VFDs or contactor controls; perform diagnostics.
• Ability to troubleshoot brake systems and mechanical components.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists per OEM manuals and OSHA standards.
• Services 3-motion cranes equipped with VFDs (no encoder) or contactor controls.
• Troubleshoots and repairs brake systems (Whiting SESA, Magnetek thruster).
• Demonstrates understanding of AC control circuits and voltage calculations.
• Rigs up and installs crane/hoist equipment using safe procedures.
• Maintains service records and communicates with customers regarding plans and parts.
