Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging seeks a Safety Manager for King Crane in San Jose, CA. You will lead HSE programs to ensure OSHA and client requirements compliance and promote a proactive safety culture across crane operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in safety or related field and 5+ years of safety management experience in crane or construction industries, with strong incident investigation and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction, crane and rigging, heavy civil, industrial, energy, or related industries.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, DOT, and other regulations.
• Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and field observations.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with Job Hazard Analyses and site-specific safety plans.
• Investigate incidents and track corrective actions.
• Prepare timely reports and communicate findings to leadership.
• Deliver safety orientations and ongoing safety training.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Provide safety guidance to project management and field personnel.
• Track safety metrics and prepare monthly/quarterly performance reports.
