Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Equipment Manager – Cranes, Project Coordination to support planning and delivery of crane solutions across its projects.

This role connects project teams with crane planning, Fleet Operations, Technical Services, and external crane partners to coordinate requirements, commitments, mobilization readiness, and ongoing communications to ensure safe, reliable delivery at expected total costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in construction, equipment rental, project coordination, project management, or related field.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects, workstreams, or equipment commitments in a deadline-driven environment.
• Clear communication of scope, schedule, cost, risk, responsibilities, and decisions to varied stakeholders.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary crane-program contact for assigned projects from planning through mobilization, operations, demobilization and closeout.
• Translate project requirements and changes into clear actions and handoffs across crane planning, Fleet Ops, Technical Services, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility to commitments, dates, equipment requirements, mobilization milestones, and risks; elevate issues threatening schedule or cost.
• Manage handoffs among estimating, crane selection, commercial agreements, deployment and closeout.
• Establish and facilitate a project-coordination cadence with updates on availability, schedule, scope, cost, and decisions.
• Support resolution of service issues, schedule changes, equipment conflicts, and delivery risks with internal/external resources.
• Develop trusted relationships with project teams and provide responsive customer service during crane engagement.
