Job summary

Optimal Field Services is seeking a Crane Operator to operate mobile cranes, lift and position loads, and follow supervisor directions via signals or commands. The role requires compliance with OSHA crane regulations and a valid crane certification.

You will perform setup, movement, and routine maintenance while maintaining a strong safety focus. Candidate must hold NCCCO (Fixed and Swing Cab), have a valid driver’s license, and pass a drug screen and physical.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct setup and teardown with helpers, including cribbing and boom adjustments.
  • Perform routine crane maintenance and carry tools for on-site repairs.
  • Ensure barricading and safety around tail swing and load paths.

Job description

Position Overview

Crane Operators for Optimal Field Services will be responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Crane Operators will be responsible for manipulating loads by operating crane controls such as depressing buttons, working foot pedals, and manipulating levers. The operator will receive direction from riggers and/or site supervision via verbal command or hand signals to determine required load movement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate various types of cranes: All Terrain, rough terrain, crawlers, industrial, hydraulic trucks, conventional trucks, and boom trucks.
  • Operate crane to position and reposition loads where specified.
  • Direct activities of helpers in setting up and knocking down the equipment; placing cribbing blocks and/or pads, moving levers and foot pedals to rotate superstructure, raise and lower boom to raise and lower cables.
  • May operate crane according to signals from helpers and may bolt/pin boom sections together to modify boom lengths.
  • Perform routine maintenance on crane equipment.
  • Carry tools for running repairs.
  • Properly barricade counterweight tail swing radius.
  • Must take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown and operation of crane.
Requirements
  • Must have valid Driver’s License/Identification Card.
  • Must be knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations in crane operations.
  • Must possess a current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification (Fixed and Swing Cab).
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
