Job summary

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor seeking seasoned Operators to advance their careers. The ideal candidate will understand commercial construction, remodeling practices, and safety requirements for complex building projects.

Selected operators will run cranes, heavy equipment, and assist with various tasks across Messer Regions. Candidates should have transportation, be within 50 miles, and willing to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• NCCCO certification with LAT, TLL, TWR specialties.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience in all phases of commercial construction.
• Candidates must have transportation.
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius.
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.
• Willing to travel to other Messer Regions.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom or tower cranes.
• Operate other types of equipment (backhoes, excavators, skid steers, RTFs, etc.).
• Move formwork, lumber, resteel and material safely by hand or with equipment.
• Place concrete from various delivery methods.
• Use demolition tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect cranes and report unsafe conditions and complete required records.
• Adapt to Laborer or Carpenter activities as needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Messer Construction Co. is an award-winning construction manager and general contractor that provides leadership for complex commercial building projects. We are currently accepting applications for seasoned Operators wanting to advance their construction careers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling practices as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.

What You Will Do:

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom or tower cranes
• Operate other types of equipment (backhoes, excavators, skid steers, RTFs, etc.)
• Manual moving of formwork, lumber, resteel and material / accessories
• Placing concrete from a truck, pump, bucket, buggy, conveyor, etc.
• Use of demolition tools: jack hammer, air tools, sledgehammer, etc.
• Know how to inspect the crane for unsafe conditions, complete required records, and communicate the unsafe conditions to the proper authority
• Ability to adapt to Laborer or Carpenter activities when necessary
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor

What You Will Bring:

• NCCCO or similar certification for minimum of 3 years with specialties in LAT, TLL, TWR
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five years’ experience in all phases of commercial construction
• Candidates must have transportation
• Be willing to work within a 50 mile radius
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions
• Willing to travel to other Messer Regions
