About Scott Bridge

Scott Bridge Company builds structures that serve and sustain life. We provide construction and emergency response services for complex highway, railroad, marine, and energy infrastructure.

How you get to help us do that in this role

Safely and precisely position heavy components to build and restore critical infrastructure with a variety of cranes. We can't build anything without you.

What you'll get to do

  • Help construct bridges, dams, hydro-structures, bulkhead walls, roadways, and marine structures to enable critical transportation and emergency response
  • Ensure safe and efficient load handling per load capacity guidelines
  • Facilitate smooth crane operation through controlled and precise boom and load line management
  • Enable the safe and accurate placement of piles and loads
  • Ensure the smooth and timely setup and readiness of equipment for construction
  • Preserve equipment performance and longevity through regular greasing, oiling, and fueling
  • Enhance job site safety through proactive inspection and identification of worn cables, worn hoisting mechanism bands, broken gears, housing, etc...
  • Collaborate with Foreman, Pile Drivers, Welders, Helpers, Laborers, and other skilled craft team members and enjoy shared successes
  • Participate in a culture of unwavering safety. Receive clean, professional, properly fitted personal protective equipment (PPE), attend regular job safety trainings, and participate in safety/environmental initiatives to ensure your well-being and our compliance with State and Federal regulations

About You

  • You've earned the qualification standard of ANSI B30.5(5-3)
  • You're skilled at operating Telecrawlers, Rough Terrains, Lattice Boom Crawlers, or Ringer Cranes with 2+ years of training/experience.
  • You can read and understand equipment load charts, capacity, capability, and proper assembly
  • You have working knowledge of construction rigging- use of slings, cable chokers, spreader bars, multiple-part load blocks, etc...
  • You have working knowledge of routine equipment maintenance
  • You have a thorough knowledge of the accepted Hand Signals for hoisting operations
  • For you, "good enough" isn't good enough and you know that accuracy is critical for safety and structural integrity. Your precision and care set you apart from other Crane Operators.
  • Your acute awareness of distance, height, and clearance ensures safe and efficient maneuvering of loads, even in the most challenging environments

Even better (but not required) if you have

  • Experience operating cranes to construct bridges, dams, hydro-structures, bulkhead walls, roadways, barges, or marine structures
  • Pile driving experience or understanding of the basic functions and operations of various types of pile hammers (diesel, air, hydraulic, and drop hammers)

What's in it for you

  • Premium Equipment - Operate our well-maintained young fleet of cranes.
  • Well-Being - Whether you need someone to lend a compassionate ear, offer counsel during challenging times, or provide comforting words of encouragement, we have in-house Chaplains here to support you
  • Growth - We know it's hard to find good training in this industry. You won't be stuck in a role long-term if you don't want to be. If you put in the work, you'll receive hands-on training and opportunities to advance your skills and position. We look for every opportunity to grow

and develop the best in our team. * Balance - While many heavy civil contractors work their teams 70-80 hours per week, you can expect to work an average of 50-60 hours per week. * Financial Security - We regularly research the industry market to ensure we can offer you above-average pay, an annual safety-based bonus and discretionary performance-based bonus, a 401K plan, and medical coverage.
