Southway Crane & Rigging is seeking experienced full-time crane operators to join our growing branch in Chattanooga/Ringgold. Candidates must meet all listed requirements to be considered.

Position: Crane Operator

Location: Chattanooga/Ringgold

Reports to: Branch Manager

Summary: Ensures safety first, proper crane setup, and customer focus. Complies with all safety, environmental, state, and federal laws while operating equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Review next day’s job assignments and prepare necessary rigging and equipment at the end of each shift.
2. Complete and submit Field Tickets, noting any chargeable equipment used.
3. Maintain daily payroll hours and submit to the branch by 10:00 a.m. every Monday.
4. When not on a job, inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on equipment.
5. Promptly answer phone calls and pagers.
6. Assist in crane operation safety training.
7. Review crane manuals periodically.
8. Clean and organize equipment and facilities.
9. Read and interpret load charts and perform calculations for safe lifting.
10. Program crane computer and set up crane safely on location.
11. Ensure signal persons understand hand signals and perform proper rigging techniques.
12. Inspect crane and vehicle before operation and submit inspection reports.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current CDL A license with no restrictions.

• Ability to operate crane using hand signals.
