Nucor is seeking an NSBC - Crane & Mobile Maintenance Automation Engineer to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-based crane and mobile control systems within a highly automated plant environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and control faults, optimizing PLC logic, supporting startup and commissioning of new crane automation equipment, and maintaining HMI screens and data collection, with overtime as needed. Equal opportunity employer with strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• 1 year experience supporting PLC and automation systems in an industrial environment.
• Experience with HMIs, sensors, and other safety devices.
• Hands-on programming experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-based crane & mobile control systems, including I/O, field devices, sensors, and actuators.
• Diagnose electrical, control, and automation-related equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor, adjust, and optimize PLC logic to support production performance.
• Support startup, commissioning, and debugging of new crane automation equipment.
• Maintain and update HMI screens, alarms, and data collection systems.
