Job Overview

This position is responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of rough terrain, crawler, and mobile cranes, as well as a variety of forklifts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical systems, including electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer‑controlled systems, and demonstrate a high level of expertise in equipment diagnostics and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment, as well as various types of forklifts, with a primary focus on the service and repair of said equipment
• Must have a strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer‑controlled systems
• Has at least 3 - 5 years of experience in the mechanical diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of mobile crane equipment
• Will be able to work evenings and weekends for crane repairs in the shop
• Must be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel
• Able to read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical)
• Must be able to perform competent inspections of all cranes
• Able to lift, up to 40 lbs

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane construction equipment; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
• Perform annual certifications and inspections
• Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision
• Computer literate with the ability to process information
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various equipment lines, including Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, and Liebherr cranes
• A history of safe work habits
• Hard worker with a great attitude
• Must supply own hand tools and keep up‑to‑date tool inventory of service truck
• Have a current valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive a company service truck. Must keep the truck clean and maintained
• A high school diploma is required, and higher education, including vocational training, is a plus
