Job summary

Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd. is seeking candidates to support crane operations. You will assist with aligning, leveling, and setting up cranes, and help with assembly/disassembly under supervision.

Responsibilities include attaching lifting gear, signaling loads, and moving loads safely on job sites. The role requires DOT physical clearance, background checks, basic mechanical skills, and a flexible schedule including travel and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Be able to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and a 7-year background check.
• Have basic mechanical skills.
• Flexible schedule, able to travel and work all days and times.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to work all days and times, 24/7 operation environment.
• Must follow directions from the crane operator and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in aligning, leveling, and setting up the crane.
• Assist in assembly/disassembly under supervision of crane operator.
• Attach load lifting devices to crane and loads safely.
• Control movements of loads using tagline and signaling.
• Follow crane to job sites and maintain cleanliness and housekeeping.

MUST BE ABLE TO BE ASSIGNED THE DESIGATED SIGNALMAN TO HELP THE CRANE OPERATOR ATTACH, LIFT, MOVE, AND SET LOADS MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AID IN CLEANLINESS AND HOUSEKEEPING OF JOB SITE AND MOBILE CRANE PULL TRAILERS WITH PICK UP FOR ADDITIONAL RIGGING AND FOLLOW CRANE TO JOB SITE. CONTROL MOVEMENTS OF LOADS BY WAY OF A TAGLINE AND SIGNALING OF THE CRANE MUST HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY OF CRANE AND ALL COMPONENTS ATTACH LOAD LIFTING DEVICES TO CRANE AND TO LOAD IN A SAFE MANNER ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED BY UTILIZING SAFE PRACTICES WEARING REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WHILE PERFORMING WORK MAINTAIN POSITIVE ATTITIUDE WITH CUSTOMERS Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
