Job summary

BARNHART is seeking a skilled mechanic to maintain and repair cranes and heavy equipment in our Memphis area operations. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including advanced electronics, and perform routine and breakdown repairs on engines, booms, brakes, tires, and hydraulics.

You will use IFS systems and crane-specific software on tablets to track work, supporting both shop and field jobs with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of experience with cranes, diesel, or heavy equipment.
• Able to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; reads schematics.
• Hands-on, problem-solving mindset; can work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cranes and heavy equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including advanced electronics.
• Work on engines, booms, brakes, tires, and hydraulic components.
• Handle equipment breakdowns and repairs across the branch fleet.
• Use tools like IFS systems, tablets, and crane-specific software to track work.
• Support both shop and field work, including job sites as needed.
