Job summary

CSS offers a comprehensive benefits package and is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes and other weight-handling equipment. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, inspect and certify equipment, and ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires strong hands-on skills, schematic reading, and the ability to coordinate with supervisors and engineers while maintaining safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old with HS diploma or GED.
  • 5–10 years of maintenance or mechanical technician experience.
  • Experience with cranes, hoists, and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools; good problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record and ability to pass drug/background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes, hoists, and other WHE.
  • Inspect, test, and certify equipment for standards compliance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures.
  • Coordinate equipment operations and rigging as needed.
  • Prepare written specifications for major repairs or new parts.
  • Reassemble and adjust equipment for proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot using blueprints, schematics, manuals, and documentation.
  • Communicate with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to coordinate needs.
  • Maintain and organize tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
