Job summary

ORBIT Industrial is seeking an experienced field service technician to diagnose crane and hoist equipment to root cause, perform safe repairs, and document findings for the customer. You will inspect and test equipment, schedule follow‑ups, and ensure the repair holds under load.

You will sign off with clear written reports, including parts, labor hours, and manufacturer information, and participate in the on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of hands on field service work on electric overhead cranes and hoists.
• Electrical troubleshooting on 480 VAC three phase systems, VFDs, and control circuits.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair on cranes, hoists, gearboxes, brakes, and wire rope systems.
• Able to perform safety inspections and load tests to the applicable standard.
• Able to fabricate and weld structural supports to the quality a finished install has to hold up to.
• Able to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings and work from them in the field.
• Clear written communication for service reports a non field reader can act on.
