Martin Marietta's Midlothian Quarry in Virginia is seeking a Crane Operator to safely operate cranes and hoists, perform routine maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe work area while moving products on site.

A typical day includes crane operation, equipment inspections, and following MSHA safety rules, with load attachment and team coordination using hand signals or radios. On-site transport of aggregates is also involved.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Previous crane operator experience is required or highly preferred.
• Experience in maintenance and operation of mobile/construction equipment is a plus.

Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the front end loader in order to provide material for the production of concrete.What to expect:Martin Marietta is seeking a Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual is responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes and other lifting equipment (e.g. hoists) and transporting products/equipment on-site. In this position, the Crane Operator will perform maintenance on all relevant equipment, maintain a safe working area, and troubleshoot equipment operating issues.;Midlothian QuarryMidlothian, VirginiaHours: 6:30AM - 4:30PM, weekends as necessaryA typical day for a(n) Crane Operator may include:Operating the crane and associated equipment within the company guidelines and safety standardsCompleting day to day activities of crane operations including daily/monthly machine inspectionsParticipating in safety inspections, plant safety program, and follows company and MSHA safety rules and regulationsAttaching loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook within the company guidelines and safety standardsPerforming pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisorReceiving directions to engage in hoisting and moving products/equipment to ensure the safety of workers and material handled, using hand signals, loud speakers, or two-way radiosTransporting, screens, crushers and other aggregate products/equipment to various locations on-siteTransporting aggregate products to screens, crushers and other locations on-siteDirecting workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment into or on to trucks, railroad cars or other moving deviceOperating other equipment in a safe manner as neededAiding in the training of co-workers as neededPerforming other duties as assigned by supervisorYou may be a good fit if you:Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionHave previous experience as a crane operator or a similar roleHave experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plantsWe are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.40 - $30.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
