Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc. in Layton, UT is seeking a Quality Inspector with 3+ years of aerospace inspection experience. Responsibilities include reviewing Travelers, conducting in-process and final inspections, First Article Inspections with AS9102, and verification of certifications.

Proficiency with CMM and Faro Arms is required. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain security clearance if needed. The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and strong math, detail orientation,

Responsibilities

• Review shop Travelers for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections.
• Perform First Article Inspections using AS9102 forms and documentation.
• Conduct receiving inspection/verification of product and related certifications.
• Review certification documents to create Certificates of Conformance.
• Create data packets like Certificates of Conformance, Indented Parts List and configuration summaries for inspections.
• Utilize CMM, Faro Arms and other inspection tools for tooling, first article and production parts.
• Support manufacturing and engineering with quality/inspection verification.
• Verify and control calibration cycles and related documentation.

Job description

• Review shop Travelers for accuracy and completeness
• Experience in working with aerospace specifications and drawings
• Conduct In-Process, and Final inspections
• Conduct First Article Inspections using AS9102 Forms and documentation
• Conduct Receiving inspection/verification of product and relating certifications
• Review certification documents and records required to create a Certificate of Conformance
• Create end item data packets such as Certificates of Conformance, Indented Parts List and Configuration summary for internal and external inspections
• Highly skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
• Complete customer Source Inspections for detail parts and assemblies
• Interface with program engineering and customers on Material Review Board issues
• Verify and control non-conforming product and the Material Review Board (MRB) process
• Use CMM, Faro Arms and other inspection tools and methods to inspect tooling, first article and production parts
• Provide Quality/Inspection verification support to Manufacturing and Engineering personnel
• Verify and control tool calibration cycles and the supporting documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Training (both required and desired):

• High School diploma required
• Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred

Experience:

• 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
• Familiarity with FAA Rule, Policy and Guidance Material CFR14 Part 21, 43, 45. FAA Order 8130.2 and 8130.21. AC21-2L Bi-Lateral agreements
• Skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance

Physical Requirements

• Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms
• Frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements while using a computer or measuring tools
• Have the dexterity to see fine print and use hand and precision measuring tools
• Adhering to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary:

The projected salary range for this position is $33-$40/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
