Job summary

KIHOMAC is seeking an experienced Quality/Inspection professional with a strong aerospace background to review travelers, inspect tooling and production parts, and conduct first article inspections using AS9102 forms. You will verify certificates and coordinate with engineering and customers on nonconformances while supporting manufacturing with inspection expertise.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and extensive GD&T knowledge, with hands-on experience using

• Experience inspecting tooling, first article and production parts.

Responsibilities

• Review shop Travelers for accuracy and completeness.
• Inspect tooling, first article and production parts using CMM, Faro Arms and other tools.
• Conduct In-Process and Final inspections per Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance requirements.
• Verify Receiving inspection and certifications.
• Create Certificates of Conformance and data packets for inspections.
• Perform First Article Inspections using AS9102 forms.
• Conduct customer Source Inspections for parts and assemblies.
• Manage non-conforming product per MRB disposition and NC release/scrap decisions.
• Interface with engineering and customers on nonconformances.
• Provide quality/inspection verification support to Manufacturing and Engineering.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Review shop Travelers for accuracy and completeness
• Use CMM, Faro Arms and other inspection tools and methods to inspect tooling, first article and production parts
• Conduct In-Process, and Final inspections. Highly skilled in inspecting to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
• Conduct Receiving inspection/verification of product and related certifications
• Review certification documents and records required to create a Certificate of Conformance
• Create end item data packets such as Certificates of Conformance, Indented Parts List and Configuration summary for internal and external inspections
• Conduct First Article Inspections using AS9102 Forms and documentation
• Complete customer Source Inspections for detail parts and assemblies
• Verify and control non-conforming product, releasing products, or scrapping them per MRB disposition part of control of NC process)
• Interface with program engineering and customers on nonconformances
• Provide Quality/Inspection verification support to Manufacturing and Engineering personnel
• Other duties as assigned

Education / Training

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred
  

Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
• Experience working with aerospace specifications and drawings preferred
• Experience using Number/Bubble Drawings to create Inspection Reports preferred
• Composite and Metals experience preferred

Security

• Must be a US citizen
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements

• Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
• Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
• Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
• Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

Salary

The projected salary range for this position is $33-38/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
