Primary Function

Perform skilled carpentry and painting work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of school buildings and equipment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized carpentry or painting apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Valid Indiana Driver's License and ability to drive a truck.
• Availability for emergency response on a 24-hour basis.
• Suitable personality and character for working on school grounds.
• Knowledge of materials, tools, and methods common to carpentry and painting.
• English communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform the duties, including heavy lifting and working at heights.

Duties

• Erect walls and framing for construction projects.
• Build and install doors, fixtures, and structures.
• Apply flooring, drywall, chalkboards, and perform painting tasks.
• Operate power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Operate power sprayers and stripe athletic fields.
• Drive light trucks or vans.
• Assist in graffiti removal and perform related duties.
