Craft Welding Instructor (Relocation Available)

Join to apply for the Craft Welding Instructor (Relocation Available) role at Facility Solutions Group.

Propel Career Academy, a division of FSG, is accepting applications year-round for qualified individuals willing to teach on a full-time or part-time basis, contingent upon student demand. Classes are held at our San Antonio facility during the academic year, with schedules potentially including day and evening sessions. Typically, instructors work approximately 18-24 hours weekly, with employment offered semester-by-semester.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach Welding courses at various times.
  2. Submit reports and forms promptly.
  3. Develop and utilize course syllabi.
  4. Meet with and advise students through various communication methods.
  5. Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
  6. Maintain professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  7. Enhance instructional quality through innovative methodologies.
  8. Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Welding.
  • Mastery of NCCER Welding course content; AWS-CWI or SCWI certifications are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lincoln Electric course content and labs.
  • Strong project leadership skills emphasizing collaboration and teamwork.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.
  • Effective student engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs and MS Office.
  • Support for multicultural and multigenerational diversity.
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools related to welding.
  • Ability to design and deliver comprehensive welding curricula.
  • Skilled in preparing students for certification assessments.
  • Ability to incorporate diverse teaching methods.
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to receive and interpret detailed oral information.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of tools safely.
  • Good visual acuity for data analysis and reading.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of documented welding experience at the journeyman level, including leadership roles, or 3 years as a certified vocational/technical instructor.
  • Welding Journeyman credential or equivalent.
  • Willingness to complete NCCER and Lincoln Electric instructor certification programs if not already certified.
Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Variable hours based on class schedules, including outside-of-class availability.
  • Work in a skilled trades laboratory environment, potentially exposed to high noise and weather conditions.
Salary

To be determined per contact hour.
