Job summary

MMR Group, Inc. is seeking candidates with electrical experience to join our construction training team. The role focuses on developing and delivering curriculum for electricians across our projects.

You will forecast training needs, review training videos, create quizzes, and help improve jobsite skills. The position requires comfortable public speaking and willingness to travel to jobsites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Commercial and electrical experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety procedures (LO/TO, NFPA 70E).
  • Experience in training and development within construction.
  • Ability to act as an electrical SME in the field.
  • Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; travel to jobsites.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Good problem solving and multitasking under deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Description

MMR is seeking candidates with electrical experience within the construction industry as a craft trainer. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the electrical interworking’s of the construction profession in general as well as how it interacts with other trades. In addition, they will be responsible for the following:



  • Work in the training facility alongside operation and division managers on the development and delivery of curriculum

  • Assist in forecasting employee training needs

  • Preview completed training videos for transfer of knowledge errors and omissions


Assist with researching topics



  • Assist with creating quizzes

  • Measure the impact of his/her training efforts

  • Improve fellow employees job-related skills along with developing, maintaining, and applying various learning tools to encourage development

  • Perform jobsite employee evaluations of their skillset(s)

  • Assist with transcribing quality videos for Spanish conversion (as required)

  • Assist with advertising training opportunities internally and externally

  • Assist with other activities as the need arises


Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Commercial and Electrical Experience

  • Knowledgeable on industry electrical safety procedures (i.e., LO/TO, NFPA 70E, etc.)

  • Experience in the electrical trade, with the ability and interest to operate in a training and development role

  • Can be considered an electrical subject matter expert (SME) within the construction industry

  • Comfortable talking in front of a group as well as one-on-one with an individual

  • Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as well as traveling to the jobsites

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision

  • Ability to coordinate a variety of project simultaneously

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required

  • Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline

  • Regular and reliable attendance at work


Preferred Skills and Qualifications


  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

  • NCEER Electrical Certifications
