Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Craft Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for construction trades on the SR400 Express Lanes project in Georgia. You will draft ads, screen resumes, and extend offers, while partnering with field leaders to align staffing with project needs.

You will build and sustain a pipeline through job boards, unions, and trade schools, ensuring compliance and timely staffing across multiple roles.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of high-volume, full-cycle craft recruiting experience in highway/construction projects.
  • High school diploma required; degree in HR/Business preferred.
  • Familiarity with OFCCP compliance and a network of trade schools/unions.
  • Construction industry field experience may substitute recruitment experience.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems; Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete recruitment process for construction craft roles from job ads to offers.
  • Collaborate with field leaders and managers to understand skills and hiring needs; build a robust pipeline.
  • Maintain active recruitment through job boards, trade partners, and industry networks.
  • Communicate requirements and company culture to candidates; address inquiries professionally.
  • Conduct/background checks and employment verifications.
  • Attend local career fairs near project sites to build qualified candidate pools.
  • Maintain recruitment records in the ATS per regulations and best practices.
  • Stay informed on talent management trends and employment law; participate in HR projects.

The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and significant improvements to the corridor. Construction began in late 2022, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

The Craft Recruiter is responsible for partnering with HRBP to develop and execute strategies that attract top-tier construction craft talent, including both union and non-union professionals, across Acciona. This position manages full-cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, selecting, and hiring for roles such as drivers, welders, foremen, superintendents, general superintendents, and other key positions as needed.

Job Description
  • Manage the complete recruitment process for construction craft roles, including drafting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, conducting phone interviews, and issuing employment offers via the applicant tracking system.
  • Works collaboratively and cultivates a positive relationship with field leaders and department managers to gain insight into the skills and competenciesrequiredfor various positions. Continually enhances knowledge of departmental hiring needs andestablishesa robust network across all service lines.
  • Staysactive with current job boards,trade partners,industry associations,social networks, and platforms to find talent, working to alwaysmaintaina talent pipeline.
  • Communicate job requirements, expectations, and company culture expectations to candidates, ensuring clarity and understanding for all parties involved, and addressing any inquiries in a professional,timelymanner.
  • Conductsoracquiresbackground checks, referencechecksandemploymenteligibility verifications.
  • Attend high school and trade career fairs and other local networking opportunities near project sites to build a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Maintainsaccurateand up-to-date recruitment records and detailsinthesystemin accordance withall federal and state regulations.
  • Maintainsknowledge of trends, best practices, regulatorychangesintalent management and employment law.
  • Activelyparticipatesin creating efficiencies and improving internal processes.
  • Participates in HR projects and audits as needed.
  • Other projects orduties asassigned by management.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • At least 5 years of high-volume, full-cycle craft recruiting experience, ideally on highway, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and OFCCP compliance, plus an established network of trade schools, unions, and craft talent sources.
  • Construction industryfieldexperience may be considered in lieu of recruitment experience.
  • Working knowledge ofapplicant tracking systems, Workday preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, or ability to learn.
  • Demonstrated time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlineswhile working under pressure.Ability to prioritize tasks andto delegatethem whenappropriate.
  • Exceptionalrelationship-buildingskills,withabilityto build trust and credibility.Ability tomaintainintegrity,positivity,professionalism, and confidentiality.Strong ability to sell Veit as an employer of choice.
