Job summary

Jose Andres Group in New York is seeking a professional Bartender to deliver outstanding hospitality across our venues. You will handle bar operations, craft handmade cocktails, and engage guests with knowledgeable descriptions of menu items.

The role requires staying active on your feet for long shifts, lifting up to 15 lbs, and collaborating with Front of House and Kitchen teams to create an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Thorough knowledge of menu items and service procedures.
• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment and to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
• This position will spend 100% of the time standing or walking.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis.
• May be required to lift trays weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Exceed guests’ expectations by providing an authentic, friendly, enthusiastic, professional culinary experience paired with impeccable service and hospitality.
• Maintain and oversee all aspects of the bar including a cash drawer/POS system, customer consumption and support of front of house and back of house teammates.
• Precisely prepare and execute an exciting menu of handmade cocktails.
• Pursue continuous learning and expand knowledge of food and beverage.
• Articulate appealing descriptions of menu items, including ingredients and cooking methods.
• Participate in R&D for cocktail creations with the team and the Head Bartender.
