Job summary

Alvarado Street Brewery is seeking an energetic bartender to join our Oldtown Salinas bar team. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare drinks, and manage POS transactions with a focus on accuracy and hospitality.

The role requires 21+ years of age and at least 1 year of bartending experience; ServSafe certification is required and TIPS is preferred. Flexible shifts and a vibrant, fast-paced environment are part of daily life here.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least 1 year bartending experience in a restaurant or pub with full bar preferred.
• Ability to maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and listening.
• Desire to help out where needed and work as part of a team.
• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.
• Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive.
• ServSafe certification required; TIPS training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests.
• Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
• Verify age of guests who appear under 30.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks per recipes.
• Record drink orders accurately in the POS system.
• Accept payments and process charges.
• Prepare garnishes and replenish bar supplies.
• Maintain an attractive, clean bar area and stock.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions.
