Job summary

The Westin Tysons Corner is seeking a beverage/food server to provide friendly, timely service to guests, including preparing and presenting drinks, handling orders, and serving as cashier for the lounge.

Responsibilities include maintaining bar inventory, taking room service calls, and ensuring safety and cleanliness while following all hotel policies. Behind-the-bar duties require strong math, communication and guest-relations skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of liquor regulations for serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Basic math skills to operate cash register and handle cash drops.
• Basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and promote and document drink orders.
• Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes.
• Maintain bar setup and stock beer, wine, spirits, and supplies.
• Receive cash, make change, verify charges and balance cash.
• Lock up and store beverages and equipment; deposit cash drops.
• Answer bar phone and take room service orders; input into POS.
• Perform general cleaning to meet health standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain neat appearance and perform related duties as assigned.
