Job summary

Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, IL is seeking a friendly bartender to greet guests, prepare and serve drinks, and manage bar stock and cash handling. You will take room-service orders, maintain cleanliness, and ensure adherence to safety and health standards.

Responsibilities include proper garnishes, accurate charging, and following all policies. The role requires knowledge of liquor regulations and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, and vouchers.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. and perform constant standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
• Maintain bar setup and stock beverages, garnishes, and related supplies.
• Prepare and present drinks using standard recipes and portion controls.
• Handle cash transactions, balance moneys, and issue vouchers.
• Lock up and store beverages and equipment securely; manage cash drops.
• Take room service orders and input into the POS system; create checks for guests and staff.
• Perform general cleaning and adhere to health standards.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and flames.
