Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Project Engineer for a prominent Indianapolis general contractor with 25+ years of market presence. You will own cradle-to-grave projects, collaborating with PMs and Superintendents on complex commercial builds from preconstruction through turnover.

The Successful Applicant will bring 1–5 years of GC experience, strong document control and project coordination skills, and hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking. A clear growth path to PM awaits.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of General Contractor experience with a foundation in commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of construction administration, document control, and project coordination
• Hands-on experience owning RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and tracking logs
• Ability to support PMs with change orders, subcontractor coordination, invoicing, and job cost tracking
• Exposure to preconstruction and estimating, including takeoffs and quantity calculations
• Experience driving punch lists, closeout, and final turnover
• Hungry, hands-on, growth-driven with ambition to run projects independently

Responsibilities

• Own projects from cradle-to-grave, from preconstruction and buyout through field execution and turnover
• Work closely with PMs and Superintendents on complex commercial projects
• Take ownership of project controls: RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost tracking, closeout
• Drive project coordination across owners, subcontractors, PMs, and field teams
• Fast-track path to Project Manager by building field and operational experience
