Job summary

Cadillac of Jackson is seeking a Condition Report (CR) Writer to inspect vehicles, document conditions, and estimate repair costs. The role uses a tablet for data entry and may involve recommending reconditioning to boost value.

You will document conditions on delivery, including paint, engine, electronics, and tires, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labor rates and parts charges. Experience in a body shop is preferred; ASE/ICAR certifications or automotive repair background are

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE and/or ICAR certifications or background in automotive repair and cost estimating.
• Strong multitasking abilities; good organization and follow-up skills.
• Previous body shop experience preferred.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Reasonable computer skills; ability to use a mobile computer device.

Responsibilities

• Use a tablet to complete vehicle condition reports, including vehicle identification data, condition description, and repair cost estimates.
• Document vehicle condition, damage, and maintenance needs; capture photographs as needed.
• Recommend reconditioning to increase vehicle value.
• Assess condition on delivery: paint, engine, AC/heater, electronics, tires.
• Stay current on labor rates, parts charges, and manufacturer updates; follow inspection procedures.
• Assist on sale days with lane coordination, vehicle location, and starting or jump-starting vehicles.

Job description

The Condition Report (CR) Writer assesses vehicle condition through inspecting vehicles for damage, missing parts and/or mechanical problems. Post inspection, the CR Writer documents the vehicle condition as well as repair/replacement cost estimates.Responsibilities:Utilizing a tablet to complete all details of the Condition Report (documentation related to vehicle condition including vehicle identification data, condition description, repair costs estimates and photographs).Making recommendations for reconditioning to increase vehicle value.Conducting assessments of vehicle condition upon delivery documenting any damage or repair required for paint, engine, AC/heater operation, electronics and tires.Maintaining current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges and manufacturer's updates; adhere to work instructions/procedures regarding inspections/documentationDemonstrating commitment to workplace safety by following predetermined safety procedures.Providing sale day assistance including lane coordination, locating and moving vehicles, and starting or jumping vehicles.Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent required.ASE and/or ICAR certifications or background in automotive repair and cost estimating required.Ability to multitask.Organization and follow-up skills.Previous body shop experience preferred.Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.Reasonable computer skills, ability to use a mobile computer device.Organization and follow-up skills.Regularly required to stand, walk, reach and kneel.Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
