Job summary

SCR Medical Transportation LLC in Chicago seeks a CPS Contract Router to manage and optimize transportation routes for Chicago Public Schools, ensuring timely and efficient service through strong scheduling, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include checking emails and Teams messages, adjusting driver call-offs, routing changes in the ISI system, pre-assigning routes for the next four business days, and maintaining records and reports for management review.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or routing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Teams.
• Experience with routing software, such as ISI, is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under pressure.
• Problem-solving skills to address scheduling conflicts or operational issues.

• Maintain accurate records of route assignments and schedule changes.
• Ensure compliance with Chicago Public Schools transportation policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports as needed for management review.

The CPS Contract Router is responsible for managing and optimizing transportation routes to ensure timely and efficient service for Chicago Public Schools. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to handle daily scheduling adjustments, monitor staffing levels, and maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Communication & Scheduling:

• Check and respond to emails and Microsoft Teams messages promptly.

• Monitor routes for efficiency and recommend adjustments to improve performance.
• Pre-assign routes for the next four business days to ensure operational readiness.

3. Coordination & Support:

• Answer and manage all incoming calls professionally and efficiently.
• Communicate time adjustments to the coordinator via Teams or email in a timely manner.
• Provide support to drivers and dispatchers to resolve on-the-road issues or emergencies.

4. Compliance & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of route assignments and schedule changes.
• Ensure compliance with Chicago Public Schools transportation policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports as needed for management review.

Work Schedule:

• Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
