Job summary

Vincennes University (VU) is seeking a CNA Instructor Non-Credit to lead CPR, AED and first aid training programs, including training, certification, and recertification for students and community members.

Responsibilities include delivering classes at approved locations, aligning lessons with American Heart Association standards, supervising students in labs, and maintaining registrations and records for state certification and program assessment.

Qualifications

• Indiana LPN or RN license required / preferred.
• Active American Heart Association instructor with site approval.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Proof of completion of an AHA approved training.
• Able to teach and certify per AHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CPR classes at approved locations.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with AHA CPR, AED, first aid.
• Supervise classroom and hands-on practice in labs.
• Manage students and prepare for state certification exam.
• Complete registrations and maintain student records.
• Provide re/certification training to new and prior students.
• Update training curricula as approved by VU and AHA.
• Maintain up-to-date classroom and registration files.
• Communicate schedules and changes with VU and students.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy laws.
• Participate in recruitment, retention, and program assessment.
