Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in a busy hospital environment in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on collecting vitals, recording patient data, and assisting with basic patient care under RN/LPN supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification within 30 days of employment. In-house PCT training will be provided, with emphasis on safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification within thirty (30) days of date of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN.
• Obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs.
• Complete in-house PCT training program.
• Demonstrate awareness of patient and personal safety.
