Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII, seeks a Production Scheduler to plan and control production schedules for complex naval ships. You will coordinate with material requirements, manage master production schedules and advise management on progress and potential issues.

Requirements include experience with scheduling software (Primavera), CPM knowledge, and a background in shipbuilding or construction sequencing. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience;
  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience;
  • Masters Degree or higher with 1+ year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates material requirements to ensure flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advises management of status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for production or purchase of components.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; expedites movement of parts via move orders, stock transfers and shipping requests.

The Role

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

Must Have
  • High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience.
  • Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience.
  • Masters Degree or above and 1 year of experience.
Nice to Have

Candidate Should Have Some Or All The Following

  • Experience using scheduling software (preferably Primavera),
  • A working knowledge of Critical Path Management (CPM)
  • An understanding of Shipbuilding or construction sequencing
  • An understanding of resourcing loading in a scheduling environment
  • Understand IMP/IMS development and maintenance
  • Understanding of Critical Path Analysis
  • Knowledge of Scheduling, Experience in MS Project, Excel, Power Point, & Access
