Job summary

Dept of Family & Protective Svc in Texas seeks a CPI Investigator I to conduct child protective investigations in a mobile unit. The role requires assessing risk, interviewing families, and coordinating services to ensure child safety.

Travel up to 85% and a starting salary in the $3,800–$5,400 monthly range. Requires a relevant degree or equivalent experience and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR accredited Associate's degree plus two years relevant work experience OR 60 credit hours plus two years relevant work experience OR 90 credit hours plus one year relevant work experience.
• Examples of relevant work experience in social, human, or protective services including paid or volunteer work with families or at-risk populations.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children who may be in an abusive or neglectful situation.
• Conducts forensic investigations of reports of abuse/neglect to determine if abuse occurred and assess risk.
• Interviews people in the case such as parents, caregivers, reporters, and others familiar with the family situation.
