Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) invites applications for CPI Investigation Worker Trainee. The role supports protective services in Region 6B, with travel up to 85% and a monthly salary range of $3,816.65 to $5,372.41.

This full-time, nonexempt position requires a driving role and mobility to visit cases, often outside standard hours. Initial screening requires a degree and relevant experience; a clinical or social services background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's or Associate's degree with relevant work experience.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services preferred.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children.
• Conducts forensic investigations to determine abuse/neglect.
• Interviews families and collects information for safety planning.
• Gathers information to support child safety and court actions.
• Maintains objective, empathetic approach in high-stress settings.
