Qualifications

• Two years' experience in CPD processing or operating room instrument processing.
• Certification in a health-related field from a central services agency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a role model in CPD policy and procedures.
• Performs ongoing work assessments per caseload and department guidelines.
• Communicates with internal and external teams to coordinate department activities.
• Assists Manager in providing 24/7 staffing assignments.
• Recognizes emergencies and initiates appropriate action.
• Collaborates with CPD Assistant on inventories and cycles.
• Works with Biomedical/Maintenance to maintain equipment.
• Maintains CPD computer instrument files and assists with charges.
• Contributes to educational needs within the department.
• Participates in departmental QA plans and processes.
• Demonstrates time management, flexibility, prioritization, and critical thinking.
• Represents the department professionally to Guthrie staff and visitors.
• Instructs staff on sterilization testing requirements and documentation.
• Monitors inventory with cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Applies microbiology, sterilization, disinfection principles to infection prevention.
• Uses proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
