Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing professional to support the perioperative area in Cortland, NY. The role focuses on handling instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring timely availability of supplies for procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sterile processing certification required within 18 months of hire per NYS Law.
• Medical assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care following infection control and hospital standards.
• Maintain clean sterile attire and proper PPE per policy.
• Identify and handle sterile and contaminated instruments and supplies correctly.
• Operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and QA tests.
• Assist with decontamination, disinfection and packaging of instruments.
• Transport specimens and supplies to designated areas and restock supplies daily.
