Job summary

GRVTY, located in McLean, VA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensure GAAP accuracy, and maintain strong internal controls. You will prepare schedules, analyze variances, and work with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations to drive improvements.

The role emphasizes process improvements, system enhancements, and audits. A Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 3–5+ years’ experience are required; Deltek Costpoint is a plus, CPA preferred but not

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience; government contracting a plus.
• Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Understanding of internal controls, including SOX compliance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a mid to large corporate environment.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement schedules.
• Analyze financial data and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support internal and external audit requirements with documentation and timely responses.
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new standards.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and operations.
• Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process simplification.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
