Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking dependable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Bradford and surrounding areas. This flexible role offers day-to-day and longer-term assignments starting October 2026, with a focus on helping pupils stay focused and complete work set by teachers.

You will work with secondary-aged students across a range of subjects, building positive relationships, managing groups, and following safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentorship or similar setting.
• Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead groups of secondary-aged students and build positive relationships.
• Solid safeguarding awareness and child protection understanding.
• DBS Update Service (enhanced) or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons or activities using prepared work and resources provided by staff.
• Keep students engaged and guide them to complete activities.
• Maintain a calm, positive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils to stay on task and work towards lesson objectives.

Connex Education is looking for dependable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Bradford and the surrounding areas. This flexible role is ideal for candidates who are confident working with young people and want to build valuable classroom experience. About the Role / Setting

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when a teacher is unavailable and ensure pupils continue with the work set by teaching staff. You will work with secondary-aged students across a range of subjects, helping them stay focused, engaged and on task. The role requires confidence, adaptability and a calm approach to supporting positive behaviour. You will follow each school’s expectations, policies and safeguarding procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with young people through education, coaching, mentoring, youth work or a similar setting.
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing and leading groups of secondary-aged students.
• The ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Fluent English skills to support clear communication in the classroom.
