Pay Range: $16.14 – $21.22/hour (based on experience)

As one of our servers, you will be responsible for ensuring all customers are greeted when arriving at the restaurant or deli and have an excellent culinary experience with us. This position will require providing exceptional customer service along with an upbeat, professional attitude. You will need to work with the cooks to ensure production and presentation is of the highest quality, meeting company standards. This position will also support our catering service as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they sit down or enter the deli, take their drink and food orders, and deliver those orders in a manner requested by the customer.
- Assist general restaurant and deli staff by performing opening and closing duties as dictated by the timing of your shift and checklists.
- Remain knowledgeable of the deli and restaurant’s menu and specials to explain them effectively to customers.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are being sent out as requested.
- Ensure all orders are input into the POS system accurately and closed out accurately.
- Manage multiple tables at once during busier hours of operation.
- Maintain safe food handling practices while preparing and serving food.
- Assist cooks as needed.
- Prepare salads, desserts, sandwich items as needed to help the restaurant back‑of‑house teams and ensure appropriate availability of items in the deli.
- Store, date, and label usable food items for future use.
- Ensure deli and other areas of campus per work checklists and assignments are maintained and stocked appropriately.
- Deliver food orders as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior food service experience, preferred.
- Experience using a point of sale (POS) system, preferred.
- Upbeat attitude and ability to make guests feel welcome in our restaurant and deli.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, some holidays and other busy hours.
- Professional in appearance and conduct.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks, functions and react calmly in emergent situations.
