Job summary

Chatham County Parks and Recreation is seeking a Youth Basketball Scorekeeper to track points, fouls, and timeouts during games at various locations in Chatham County. This temporary role requires reliable split-second decision making and strong attention to detail.

The position involves updating scoresheets, assisting with setup and teardown of game sites, and delivering courteous service to participants and the public. Schedule varies with program events; benefits are not included.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service with the public and in a recreational setting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and game procedures.

Responsibilities

• Keeps up with fouls, timeouts, and points for each team during assigned games.
• Maintains records such as attendance sheets and scoresheets.
• Assists in set-up, breakdown, and cleaning of the assigned work areas for scheduled programs or events.
• Provides positive customer service to participants, volunteers, and the public.
• Performs scorekeeping functions at various schools throughout Chatham County.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
