Job summary

The Town of Marana seeks a Courtroom Specialist for the Municipal Court. This full-time role assists the Judge by facilitating flow of documents and people, handling court filings, and updating the criminal case calendar. A highly organized, detail-oriented candidate is preferred.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with six months of related training and over one year of related experience. A fingerprint clearance and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist judge in courtroom proceedings; prepare court documents for signature; enter long form complaints; process protective orders; update criminal case calendar; mark exhibits; record trials and hearings; distribute documents to the correct persons/agencies; process appeals; collect jail paperwork.
• Manage electronic and paper court filings; prepare minutes entries for judicial review.
• Update cases in the database; docket actions; adjudicate criminal cases; report outcomes; impose fines and fees as required by orders.
• Provide back-up support to court clerks; deliver quality customer service both internally and externally.
