Job summary

The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office/Jail Division is hiring on a continuous basis for a Part-Sheriff’s Office Security Officer. The role observes conduct in court, assists jurors, and helps maintain safety by inspecting for contraband and following judge instructions.

The position is under general supervision with independent work methods. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and about one year of experience in security, customer service, or related fields.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in security, customer service, clerical or related field.

Responsibilities

• Observe conduct in courtroom to prevent disturbances and inmate escapes.
• Assist jurors and witnesses during court terms.
• Search courtrooms for weapons and contraband and report findings.
• Operate security devices and assist with court security procedures.
• Escort and transport inmates and monitor court facilities.
